Ambassador Ron Kirk served in the cabinet of President Barack Obama as the lead U.S. Trade Representative. In this role, he was America’s principal trade negotiator and spokesperson on international trade, as well as the president’s top trade advisor. Ambassador Kirk oversaw the approval and implementation of all free trade agreements, including the new Trans-Pacific Partnership.

Prior to his service with the White House, Ron Kirk was mayor of Dallas Texas, a city of 7.1 million. In this role he is quite familiar with the needs of inner city businesses. Currently the Ambassador serves as Chairman of the CASEnergy Coalition, speaking nationally about energy infrastructure.

During his talk Ambassador Kirk will discuss Queens’ environment for rapid business growth and opportunity, including in the technology, global shipping and real estate sectors. What are the opportunities and impediments to an infrastructure environment conducive to business growth and sustainability?
